What is this about?

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) or Butt Augmentation is unique from other buttock procedures because it uses your own body fat to contour the Colombian derrière instead of a gluteal implant. The fat grafting or fat transfer method allows for less recovery time and ensures natural-looking results. The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is ideal for anyone unhappy with their buttock contour with adequate fat stores to take.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery?
Good candidates for Brazilian butt lift surgery are people who would like to enhance the appearance and prominence of their buttocks without the need for artificial implants. These patients should have some excess body fat in parts of their body from which to draw. This often means taking fat from the flanks and lower abdominal area, which is one of the most common places where fat accumulates.

What results could you expect?

A Brazilian Butt Lift is a surgical procedure that enhances the appearance of your buttocks. First, your plastic surgeon uses liposuction to remove excess fat from the buttocks area. Then, the extracted fat is purified and prepared for reinsertion. Finally, your surgeon injects the fat into specially selected areas that provide your desired shape. Although some fat will struggle and not “take,” your plastic surgeon accounts for this when calculating the precise amount of fat needed to create your desired result.

Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery
After a Brazilian Butt Lift you will have swelling and soreness in the areas the fat was taken from, and a little bit in the butt too. The swelling, soreness and bruising, can last for up to a month but is much better after only 1 week. Most of our patients return to work and regular activities after 1- 2 weeks but must avoid strenuous exercise for about 3 weeks.

FAQ’s About the treatment

About the recovery?

Immediately following the procedure, a person can expect to go to a recovery room. A healthcare professional will monitor them and check the incision.

During recovery in the clinic, they will receive instructions on:

  • recovery time
  • how to care for the incision
  • when to expect to resume normal activity

When a person is free to leave the clinic, they will need someone there to take them home. Doctors do not recommend they drive themselves home after surgery. There may be drainage tubes that need emptying, and the individual will have to record the amount of fluid draining from their wound each day.

At home, a person should make sure they have someone to help them for the first few days, as their mobility will be limited. They may experience tightness around their Tummy and only be able to walk hunched over for a week or two.

Initially, they can expect the incision to feel sore. They will likely need to lie in bed at an angle and may also have trouble with:

  • Standing
  • Lifting objects
  • General movement

Many people take up to a month off work, particularly if their occupation is physically demanding.

After a Tummy Tuck, they should also avoid exercise for the first several weeks until a doctor gives them the all-clear. However, a person can typically return to activities, such as driving, within 1 to 2 weeks and gradually do more everyday tasks as time passes. Finally, a Tummy Tuck scar will likely feel sore or tight for several weeks to months following surgery. The visibility of the scar will slowly fade.

What will the postoperative period be like?

Once 360º Liposuction has been performed, it is joint for minor bruises or swelling to appear, which will disappear shortly. In addition, it is expected that the patient may feel heavy during the first hours; however, after 24/48 hours, the patient will be able to resume his daily activities without any problem.

The patient must carry out a series of recommendations that will indicate the surgeon to facilitate the postoperative period. Some of these indications are:

  • During the postoperative massage, the lymphatic channels are interrupted, and it takes two and three months to make new connections; The massage technique helps to reduce swelling and improve aesthetic results by reducing tissue congestion. In addition, the masseuse massages the excess fluid into the lymphatic tissue to be more quickly absorbed by the body.
  • Wear a compression garment over the operated area to control edema and help the skin adapt to its new contour.
  • Wear compression garments so that the space between the skin and the muscle, where the fat used to be, is as tight as possible.
  • Avoid intense exercise or activities that require excessive mobilization of the treated area for one month.
  • Avoid exposing the scar to direct sunlight.
