What is this about?
Acupuncture is an effective ancient Chinese healing modality that has been used for over 2,000 years. It involves the insertion of skinny, sterilized needles into specific acupuncture points on the body to rebalance your qi (or life force), guiding the body towards natural healing and restoring balance and health to the mind, body, and spirit. Acupuncture is a holistic approach to healing that involves treating the whole person by finding the root cause of a condition gently and compassionately. As a result, most of our patients feel a sense of deep relaxation & even sleepiness!
What results could you expect?
We see a lot of patients who are new to acupuncture. Don not worry; we will talk you through it. Once you arrive for your treatment, your practitioner will discuss what brought you in and ask targeted follow-up questions to help them decide how to proceed with the session.
If you are nervous, let us know. We will talk to you about what you can expect to feel. Your acupuncturist will use tiny, sterile, single-use needles inserted into acupuncture points. You will rest for about 30 minutes. Many patients fall asleep or into a deep meditative state during this rest period.
At the end of the session, your licensed acupuncturist will remove the needles and answer any questions you have. You will be given a treatment plan before you leave, consisting of treatment and lifestyle suggestions.
